Britany Tuma, LCPC
Mental Health Therapist
I am a native Nevadan and, before all else, a wife and proud mom of three teenagers. I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor passionate about helping individuals, couples, and families navigate life’s challenges while building confidence, autonomy, and a stronger sense of self. I am especially passionate about serving Carson City and Nevada’s rural communities, where access to compassionate and individualized mental health care is essential. I have worked as a therapist for the past eight years in a nonprofit setting, and my passion for this work has inspired me to continue growing professionally. I am currently pursuing a PhD in Clinical Psychology as I embark on this private practice journey.
My clinical experience includes working with trauma, domestic violence, self-harm and suicidal ideation, life transitions, aging adults, relationship and family concerns, juvenile probation, and court-related evaluations. I work from a person-centered, evidence-based perspective and strive to create a space where people feel heard, respected, and comfortable being their authentic selves.
I believe counseling does not have to feel overly clinical or intimidating. My approach blends compassion and gentleness with authenticity and humor while honoring each client’s experiences, strengths, and goals. I enjoy helping people find their voice and feel empowered to be unapologetically themselves.
Outside of the office, I enjoy reading, running, spending time with my family, and appreciating the Nevada outdoors I have always called home. Come as you are, we’ll figure out the rest together and probably laugh a little along the way.
